Stibbe law firm

Amsterdam,United Kingdom

With over 400 lawyers working for them, Stibbe law firm is one of the sector’s biggest and most renowned in the Benelux region. Stibbe employs around 190 lawyers in Amsterdam alone, which is also the place where the firm was founded. In summer 2016 the company moved out of its previous premises on Strawinskylaan: the company is now located in a new build that was constructed to plans by Jo Coenen Architects & Urbanists (JCAU) in the business neighbourhood to the south of Amsterdam. The heart of the ten-storey building is the triangular atrium, capped by a prism-shaped skylight. The impressive steel support structure is highlighted and clearly discernible here. The interior designers from Fokkema & Partners emphasised the building’s form through sound insulation elements in similar shapes.

Fokkema & Partners picked an interior design concept for the light-flooded building that highlights the connection between each of the rooms via openings and visually appealing elements. They also provided spectacular views over the city. These views are simply stunning in the law firm’s conference room: the elliptical, two-floor room in the new build’s staggered storey delivers a panoramic view over the Dutch city. It’s furnished – just like all other conference rooms in the building – with the Wilkhahn Graph range (design: jehs+laub).

Heerema headquarters

Leiden, Netherlands

Flooded with light and dynamic: the 12-storey headquarters of Dutch offshore company Heerema are not far from Leiden’s university and railway station. The introduction of dynamic working styles lies at the heart of the concept developed by interior designers Heyligers for the office building. It pervades all areas of the headquarters and offers staff all sorts of environments suitable for people working by themselves or in groups, or for one-to-one chats – from the small conference table for meetings between two or four people to the large conference executive conference room. While the Wilkhahn Graph and Timetable tables – veneered in oak or coated white – reflect the light basic colour of the surrounding rooms, the Graph conference chairs in black and anthracite are deliberate graphical accents. Graph’s stylish form is underscored by concealed screws and the way that all finishes are carefully formed. Even the seams on the covers – in this case a fabric cover by Kvadrat – follow the lines of the integrated design concept.

London, UK

The Leadenhall Building designed by architects Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners, a skyscraper Londoners jokingly refer to as the “cheese grater“ because of its shape, has stood in London‘s financial district since 2014. One of the lessees is Fidelis Insurance. The company moved into around 900 square metres of new offices on the 34th floor at the end of 2015. Planners with Advanced Interior Solutions chose the chairs for the Management Board area and the meeting rooms in keeping with the spectacular view: Graph conference chairs with unusual grey-blue suede covers.

Just like in the restaurants, the new administration offices of the system restaurateur in Munich are also designed in a cosy, feel-good atmosphere. A mixture of styles was created for the organisation furniture and design products by skilfully combining warm colours and special materials with vintage elements. In addition to a specially developed concept for the lighting and acoustics, office chair ON made sure that working in the offices was relaxed, inspiring and concentrated. ON‘s elegant beauty and yellow Remix cover material blend perfectly into the concept. Besides ON chairs, the offices have also been equipped with Sito cantilever chairs and a Confair folding table.

Blavatnik School of Government

Oxford, England

The Blavatnik School of Government is a new door in a timeless design language to the neoclassical environment of the Radcliff Observatory Quarter on the Oxford campus. The premises are ideal in many respects for students who want to learn how to be responsible politicians and leaders. And office furniture manufacturer Wilkhahn is delighted that its seating clearly scores top marks elsewhere too. Because exclusive Yale University in the US also selected Modus for its new building by Sir Norman Foster.
